Services

Children & Adolescents

A safe and age-appropriate way to express feelings, explore experiences and build emotional understanding.

Children often communicate more naturally through play and creativity than through words alone. Art therapy allows expression to unfold in a way that feels familiar, non-threatening and supportive.

Sessions are tailored to each young person’s strengths, communication style and sensory profile - including neurodivergent young people.

Art therapy may support young people experiencing

  • Anxiety or emotional overwhelm
  • Difficulties with emotional regulation
  • Trauma, grief or loss
  • Changes in family dynamics
  • Schooling transitions, learning challenges or social pressures
  • Sensory sensitivities or overwhelm
  • Neurodivergence (including ADHD and ASD)

What to Expect

What sessions are like

Sessions are guided gently and thoughtfully, using a range of creative materials and processes. Children are never pressured to talk about their artwork or feelings. The pace and focus are shaped by the child’s needs, interests and developmental stage.

Many children leave sessions feeling calmer and more settled.

Involving parents & caregivers

Where appropriate, parents or caregivers may be involved in a way that supports the child’s wellbeing while respecting therapeutic boundaries and confidentiality. Parents are welcome to stay in sessions if this supports the child’s comfort and sense of safety.
